This story was born in a hospital room at Carlisle’s children’s ward, during one of the many long stays Reggie has faced with bravery and heart.
Reggie, aged 7, has a complex medical history and lives with challenges that many can’t see — but feel very real to him. Among them are night terrors and insomnia, which become especially tough when his anxiety rises.
During this time, we found comfort in storytelling. "Tyrannosaurus Reg" was created to help Reggie make sense of his feelings, to give his fears a name, and to remind him (and others) that even on the darkest nights, there’s always light — whether it’s in the form of a cuddly axolotl friend, a deep breath, or simply knowing you’re not alone.
We hope this story brings comfort, understanding, and a little bit of dino magic to every child who needs it.
